Supply chain and fulfilment specialist Walker Logistics has invested in new labour tracking software at its 23,225m2. storage facility in Berkshire. Scheduled to go live this month, the technology gives Walker greater visibility of its workforce by enabling staff to register exactly what processes they are undertaking and for which client account they are working at any given time. The exact amount of time that has been spent on each task - and each client account - by staff can be logged via an app, which can be accessed from a mobile phone. Walker expected the system would enhance efficiencies across all areas of its business. Simon Lapham, Walker Logistics' head of operations, commented: "The system means we will have more labour-related information than ever before, which will allow us to constantly improve our performance and deliver even better value and higher levels of service to clients."
