Urinary markers for the acute intake of banana: Results of an untargeted GC × GC-MS analysis

Traditional dietary assessment methods often suffer from reporting uncertainties. Low molecular weight Compounds may serve as intake markers for specific foods and thus help to verify the results of a dietary assessment. The aim of the multinational JPI project FoodBAll (Food Bio-marker Alliance) is to identify and validate metabolites as markers for the acute intake of typical foods using untargeted metabolomics methods. Here we report the results of a kinetic short-term Intervention study aiming to identify markers for the intake of banana.
