To the north ofrnthe road can be found the remains of USAAF Station 119, once the home of the 95th Bomb Group.rnThe B-17s of the 95th settled upon the airfield in mid-June 1943, carrying out their last mission on April 20, 1945 - 42 days after the loss of 42-97844 at Weisel. With therndistinctive 'Boxed B' on the fin, the 95th BG comprised four Bomb Squadrons, the 334th (coded 'BG-'), the 335th ('OE-'), 336th ('ET-') and the 412th ('QW-').
