I very much enjoyed the article in the September issue concerning the Wings of The Eagle. It brought to mind one evening in early summer of 1943 My Grandmother and I were sitting at our front door, in Tennyson Road, Lowestoft, whei with a huge roar, a flight of Fw 190s flew over fast and low, south to north, strafing as they did so, and I believe bombs were dropped. Perhaps the hit and ru raid was directed at HMS Europe Martello, Minos and Mantie, the four naval bases in Lowestoft. I believe that there was little anti-aircraft fire involved in the action. Would any readers have any recollection of this event?
