Memorial to the Allies

The recent coverage of the Bomber Command memorial has prompted Paul Carter of Claxton, Norwich, to write to remind us of another important tribute to the fallen of World War Two. In his letter, he says: "The International Air Forces Monument, which stands as a unique tribute to all 17 of the Allied countries that took part in the conflict, is the lasting legacy of a fellow Plymothian, the late Jim Davis, who sadly passed away on March 18, 2012. Jim was a former RAF rear gunner whose wartime service included spells with 90 Squadron Bomber Command and 7 (Pathfinder) Squadron.
