Two airworthy World War One reproductions, a Sopwith Snipe and an Albatros D.Va, have been acquired by Florida-based Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks. Both machines were built in New Zealand by Peter Jackson's company The Vintage Aviator Ltd. The Albatros is fitted with an original six-cylinder Mercedes engine, and is painted in the colours of pilot Adolf Schreder, who flew with Jasta 17. The Snipe is currently in storage awaiting re-assembly, while the Albatros has already been put on display at the Polk City attraction.
