Two highly experienced and skilled pilots; each owning a Yak C-l1 and offering a formation session... it was an opportunity too good to pass up! Rob Davies and Mark Rijkse are both well versed with the big, radial-engined Yak with the distinctive wing shape. After the post-session debrief and the obligatory cup of tea Rob confided something. The sortie had been the first he had flown in close formation with another warbird since he had baled out of P-51D Big Beautiful Doll at Duxford in July 2011 after being hit by a Skyraider.
