Bravo Delta is a specialist at creating scale replica aircraft models from hand-carved mahogany. This firm's imposing 1/25 scale Hurricane Mk.l depicts R4118/UP-W, the surviving Battle of Britain airframe that now resides with Hurricane Heritage at Duxford. The model has many authentic features, such as the pilot's step, metallic-look three-stack exhausts, the ventral radiator unit and rear-view mirror on the windscreen. The paint finish is pristine; panel line detail sits on the surface rather than being engraved, and the model even sports the accurate extended red portion of the vertical tail flash. The cockpit is fully furnished, and the glazing is admirably clear, although the propeller and spinner shapes are not guite 'spot on'. Regardless, it's a handsome facsimile that comes in wheels-down format, and with a sturdy metal and black-painted wooden display stand bearing airframe and squadron information. Measuring approximately 191/2 × 16in (50 × 40cm), it'll need a roomy display area.
