ARF Brodak Cardinal

Since Windy Urtnowski first introduced the original Cardinal .60 back around 1988, this C/L Stunter has really made a name for itself. There have been 12 or 13 versions of the plane since then, and Brodak's new AEF and ARC kits of the Cardinal are Windy's latest version of it, in profile form. Though the profile is a close lookalike to the original Cardinal, this new model is a modern Stunter, with all the modern Stunt moments, and a thick symmetrical wing. It was designed to serve as a trainer for the Stunt pattern and let Intermediate and Advanced pilots work their way up to the Expert class. All the pieces and parts were neatly packed, with the wings, fuselage, and tail group each individually plastic bagged, as was the hardware. The wings (and fuselage) are built-up balsa and ply with the leading edge and trailing edge sheeted, top and bottom. The horizontal stabilizer, flaps and elevators are 1/4-inch sheet. The "nose ring" of 1/8-inch lite ply had been broken during transit. The black and white (newsprint) instruction manual (17 pages) has un-num-bered pictures preceding each step, so some careful review has to be done to relate "picture-to-step".
