1/2A Multi-Engine Profile Scale Contest

Thirty years ago, California's Valley Circle Burners club hosted a unique controline event: V2A Multi-Engine Profile Scale. The uncomplicated rules encouraged entries: just bring a three-view and other supporting documents then fly a minimum of ten laps with all engines running in order to qualify. Recalling how much fun that was, I wanted to resurrect the event here in Tucson, hosted by the Cholla Choppers club, only with .061 ci maximum displacement for each engine. In December 2006 we announced the dates of October 13-14, 2007?plenty of time for everyone to get something built (or so we thought!). Turnout was somewhat less than what we'd hoped for, with only seven entries. This may change dramatically at the next one since those who came to observe expressed a great deal of interest. At this writing the date for the Second Annual is pending, though it should be known by the time this article is published.
