The device has a mounting frame (2) comprising two lateral side profiles (3.1, 3.2), which run parallely at a distance to each other. The frame comprises an upper transverse profile arranged at an upper region between the side profiles. A lower transverse profile (4.2) is provided at a lower region between the side profiles, where the side profiles and the transverse profiles of a flat surface are largely flat, and lie in a windproof manner. The side profiles and the upper transverse profile are extruded from aluminum, and consist of a box section and a side molding. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting an information carrier i.e. large-scale advertising poster, on a facade and/or flat surface, in a mounting frame.
