Austrian to reduce flight frequencies as pilots are trained on Embraer 195

Austrian Airlines is reducing its summer timetable in order to avoid disruption as a result of a pilot shortage. The Lufthansa Group carrier says 10% of its approximately 1,000 pilots are unavailable while they are trained to fly Embraer 195 regional jets - being introduced by the carrier to replace its ageing Fokker 70/100 fleet by 2017.
