As children many of us remember a number of cartoon characters. Bugs Bunny is one that comes to mind. His rather cool and laconic approach to the arrival of a threat such as a Tasmanian Devil was typified by his chewing on a carrot and asking "What's up doc?" Terrorists can be thought of as today's equivalent of the Tasmanian Devil. They rush through shopping malls dispensing death and destruction in vicious attacks designed to maximise the number of casualties. At the Westgate Shopping Mall in Nairobi in Kenya, after the initial inadequate response of the Kenya authorities, the terrorists quickly started on a second improvised stage of the attack. In this they tortured people who were already wounded, asking questions to ascertain their religious knowledge of Islam before killing them in cold blood if their answers did not confirm their status as a Muslim.
