Build back better with sprinklers in schools

The Fire Sector Federation has for many years expressed support for mandating the fitting of automatic water sprinklers in schools, or at the very least seriously considering them given the cost and impact loss of school facilities involves. Youth truly are all our future and disruption in their education, however caused, must be avoided. Learning of the recent revelation that school fires have destroyed over 1,000 classrooms in England in the last five years is therefore a stark and unwanted reminder of the need for effective fire safety management of our schools.
