摘要

Stiffened plate approach has been referred in introduction of the paper under discussion (Refs. [10-12] of the paper). The stiffened plate approach of Mukhopadhyay and Satsangi (Ref. [10]) is based on an eight noded isoparametric stiffened plate bending element for isotropic material. Chattopadhyay et al. (1993) presented an eight noded isoparametric laminated stiffened plate bending element for the analysis of laminated stiffened plate with stiffener of rectangular cross-section, whereas Satsangi and Ray (Ref. [11]) discussed the eight noded isoparametric plate bending element for the plate and three noded isoparametric beam element for the stiffener. The concept of same number of degrees of freedom per node in the plate element and also the stiffener element for isotropic as well as composite materials had been developed by Ray and Satsangi (1996) and discussed in the papers by Ray and Satsangi (1996) and Satsangi and Ray (1998).
