FAJ Book Reviews: For Relevance, Value, and Scope

The Financial Analysts Journal invited me to become book review editor in 1989. Declining health had compelled my predecessor, a gracious gentleman named Robert Cummin, to give up the duty. Because I had derived a lot of satisfaction from a few previous opportunities to contribute reviews, I was glad to accept. The honor of serving on the FAJ's distinguished editorial board was a wonderful bonus. In the years since I took on the task, several enthusiastic volunteers have joined the effort. They have brought expertise in various areas in which my own knowledge is limited. The involvement of these dedicated volunteers has expanded the range of books that we can review in a well-informed manner.
