In an upcoming issue of the Financial Analysts Journal, Ludovic Phalippou of the University of Amsterdam, provides important clues in the ongoing quest for a better understanding of what governs the well-known value premium. His article, "Where Is the Value Premium?" shows that the value effect is highly concentrated, originating within only 7 percent of the market where institutional investors are unable to arbitrage profit opportunities.
