Method of Describing Pore-Size Distributions in Filter Media

Many papers in the literature of filtration describe pore-size distributions. That is, such papers provide plots, on linear/linear coordinates, of pore "size", on the horizontal axis, versus the frequency of individual pore sizes on the vertical axis. While authors describe "size" as a linear dimension, few say if it means radius, as some authors' address, or diameter. Their plots, of course, describe curves, which shapes can be changed with the layout scale of the two coordinates.
