Review: Describing Pore-Size Distributions in Filter Media

Too many writers, when plotting pore-size distributions, do it on linear/linear coordinates. The appropriate way to make such a plot is to do it on log/log paper, looking for a characteristic curve. In 1967, Piekaar and Clarenburg randomly drew short lines of different slopes on a sheet of paper to illustrate a random array of different-size pores. Size means diameter, the ratio of the cross-sectional area to the perimeter.
