A freely available software measures pore-diameter distributions in micro-photographs of the surfaces of filter media composed of random arrays of their constituent (building) materials.Pore diameter refers to the ratio of the cross-sectional area to the perimeter.Plots of the number of pores vs.diameter follow the gamma distribution with ratios of the standard deviations to means close to 0.707.
