Good half for lridium

Satellite service provider Iridium has chalked up good first half figures, continuing a run of five quarters of double digit growth. Total revenue in the second quarter 2008 was $81.7M, up 22% on the same quarter 2007. For the first half 2008 Iridium posted S156M in revenue, a 31% increase over the first half 2007. Second quarter 2008 EBITOA of S25.8M was 28% greater than the second quarter 2007 total, while EBITDA for the first six months of 2008 was $50.2M, a 49% rise over the same period in 2007. The number of subscribers also increased by around 38% in the same period. Iridium has continued to expand its involvement with the US government and military.
