PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reflection display which is light in weight and good in visibility when viewed at an angle where the reflection of external light is avoided at the time of use as a reflection type by providing reflected light quantity distribution characteristics which maximize the quantity of reflection light at an angle deviating from a regular reflection angle by more than a specific angle. SOLUTION: This half-transmissive and half-reflective plate has reflected light quantity distribution characteristics different from a conventional half-transmissive and half-reflective plate. Namely, denoting the angle of incidence of light on the half-transmissive and half-reflective plate as (0 deg.90 deg.), the regular reflection angle is and when the reflection angle at which the quantity of reflected light becomes maximum at the time of measurement of angle dependency of the quantity of reflected light, a condition of -'=5 deg. is satisfied. The surface of the half-transmissive and half-reflective plate having the reflected light quantity characteristics is so shaped that prisms are arrayed adjacently along the ridges, the section is in a saw-tooth shape composed of connecting triangles, and the elevation of the surface to a horizontal surface is =2.5 deg..
