Hercules gathers its strength

Now halfway through its three-year schedule of works, the Hercules-B integrated project is the sequel to probably the most ambitious and extensive marine engineering joint research initiative ever undertaken. Hercules-A, which ran from 2003 to 2007, set out bold long-term targets for marine diesel plant efficiency and exhaust emissions, and provided a bedrock of studies and prototyping.
