A new NBN contractor in South Australia

The contract will see SA Power Networks, the company formerly known as ETSA Utilities, design and construct the local and distribution network for approximately 300,000 premises in Adelaide and regional South Australia. It will run fibre from a local communications exchange (fibre access node or FAN) through each street in a coverage area. It is the second NBN construction contract to be awarded in the state. Syntheo, a consortium comprising Lend Lease and Service Stream, was granted a two-year contract for the rollout of fibre in South Australia in November 2011.
