NBN Co inks fiber rollout deal with SA Power Networks for South Australia

NBN Co, the public-private company overseeing the National Broadband Network (NBN) project, has selected SA Power Networks to roll out fiber-optic infrastructure covering approximately 300,000 premises in Adelaide and regional South Australia. Under the terms of the three-year deal SA Power Networks, which was formerly known as ETSA Utilities, will design and construct the local and distribution network that runs fiber from a local communications exchange (fiber access node, or FAN) through each street in a coverage area. The contract includes the options for extension by a two further one-year periods.
