Always use single-core 0.6mm diameter plastic-sleeved wire for wire links, not thicker. The ends of the wire should be stripped of plastic for about 8mm. The use of thicker wire can permanently damage the springy sockets underneath each hole.rnNever use stranded wire; it can fray and catch in the sockets, or a strand can break off and cause unwanted connections below the surface of the breadboard.rnIt is very important to make sure that the bared ends of link wires and component leads are straight before inserting them into the breadboard. Kinks in the wire will catch in the springy clip below the socket and damage it if you have to tug to release the wire from the holes.
