Platform wants moratorium on EU wind farms

The European Platform Against Wind-farms (EPAW) has called for a moratorium on all European wind farm projects, including those having been granted planning consent. An investigation by independent experts is also necessary, argues the platform, so as to determine the true effects of EU wind farm policy in the past ten years. This analysis should assess the quantity of CO_2 emitted by wind turbines; the impact of public expenditure on consumer electricity charges; the health consequences; and the repercussions of wind farms on the environment and on the value of land and buildings.
