Ep Report Proposes 'black List' Of Unfair Commercial Practices

Highlighting the pressing need to better protect consumers against burgeoning unfair commercial practices, an own-initiative report by MEP Barbara Weiler (PES, Germany) urges EU-wide campaigns to heighten consumers' awareness of their rights and proposes the creation of a 'black list' of commercial practices that "should be prohibited in all circumstances". The report was adopted by the European Parliament's plenary session, on 13 January in Strasbourg, by 566 votes in favour, 18 against and 15 abstentions.
