Greenpeace: Barroso cooking up GM 'recipe for disaster'

The environmental organisation Greenpeace launched, on 20 April, an attack against the "indigestible GMO menu" concocted by "assistant chef" Jose Manuel Barroso. The president of the European Commission recently caused controversy by authorising, on 2 March, from the start of his new mandate, cultivation of the genetically modified Amflora potato manufactured by the German group BASF. This is the first GMO cultivation authorisation in twelve years. "Personally, I am agnostic, I do not have a position on the subject and I leave it to science," defended Barroso at the time.
