Waste directives: EEB presses for ambitious revision

The European Commission is putting the finishing touches on its proposal for revision of three waste management directives -the Waste Framework Directive (2008/98/EC), Directive 1999/31/ EC on the landfill of waste and Directive 94/62/EC on packaging and packaging waste - as well as on a communication on the transition to a circular economy. It plans to present the proposals towards mid-May, in theory before or during Green Week, focused on the circular economy, to be held in Brussels from 3 to 5 June.
