The road ahead for organic PVs

Andy Bateman, business development director for the national Printed Electronics Technology Centre (PETEC) discusses the opportunities that lie ahead for organic photovoltaics (OPVs), and their predicted impact on the traditional PV market. Much is made of the need to move to sustainable energy sources, and rightfully so. As a race we are finally beginning to recognise that we are heading into a new age of rising energy costs against a backdrop of spiralling green house gases and an ever increasing demand for energy. Thankfully all is not lost and there are options beyond fossil fuels which can help us address the challenges that lie ahead.
