Horizon 2020 and beyond: an Opportunity Worth Taking

Research and innovation is a key issue for all industries. And it is no surprise that in the Europe 2020 strategy developed by the European Commissi on, innovation is one of the five pillars of development for this decade. With an overall target of 3% of the EU's GDP to be invested in research and development in 20201), and a current intensity below 2% in many EU countries, there should be plenty of room for District Heating and Cooling to contribute to achieving the EU-27's research targets.
