This book is an engaging introduction to the sub-discipline of agricultural geography and a valuable addition to the growing interdisciplinary field of environmental studies. No doubt scholars will welcome Allison Hayes-Conroy's book as a useful contribution to the discipline for her extensive research, fresh insights into geography's 'cultural turn,' and the challenges that accompany such new knowledge. Hayes-Conroy approaches agriculture as a cultural phenomenon, '... as a realm where society, ecology, and politics come together most vividly' making this book a promising entry into nature-culture relations (p. 31). These three components form section I: 'Sustaining geographies of agriculture.'
