Executive outcome: Transport Scotland, the executive body responsible for delivering that country's national transport agenda, has recently rebranded its ITS infrastructure as Traffic Scotland

The current Scottish ITS infrastructure, recently rebranded as Traffic Scotland, is the culmination of a number of regional initiatives originating in the 1980s and 90s which were subsequently taken forward on a national basis as the National Driver Information and Control System (NADICS). The system currently features an extensive range of ITS functions, such as queue management, Automatic Incident Detection (AID) and information dissemination via Variable Message Signs (VMS) and the internet.
