Reflections: Environmental hazards and disasters: Research perspectives

摘要

Reflections on environmental hazards' issues take me over 25 years back to Chernobyl radiation disaster. Originally this major catastrophic event stemmed from social and technological failures and thus did not involve natural hazards. However, its aftermath resulting from radioactive fallout turned to be the worst environmental disaster leaving alone socioeconomic and political implications.
