Consultation launched on sustainable use of natural resources

Stakeholders have until 30 January to comment on European Commission plans for a future Thematic strategy on the sustainable use of natural resources in an online consultation launched on 6 December. The consultation, the second on the future strategy document, comes in the form of a questionnaire. The Commission says the strategy will aim to reduce the environmental impact of using natural resources, whether raw materials such as minerals and biomass or environmental media like air, water and soil. Guidance on the webpage containing the questionnaire says the Commission particularly welcomes quantitative data on economic, social or environmental impacts of the different options or concrete examples of what they would mean for a particular sector.
