Industry steps up campaign against Hungary's product fee law

The European Aluminium Association has welcomes the European Commission's decision to start infringement proceedings against Hungary for its failure to notify changes to its product fee law. EAA, along with other industry organisations such as Beverage Can Makers' Europe (BCME) and the European Organisation for Packaging and the Environment (EUROPEN), call on Hungary to revise its packaging decree and to draft a new regulation fully in line with EU legislation. The aluminium association would be delighted to cooperate in this, with all stakeholders concerned, including the authorities, it said in a recent press statement.
