Hungary to promote reusable packaging in product fee law

Hungary's amended text following its 2011 product fee law will encourage reusable packaging and cut administrative burden, its Environment Ministry revealed last month. The law received by the European Commission on 18 October applies to packaging, batteries, electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), advertising paper, rubber tyres and other petroleum products. It is modified to "fine tune the existing system based on the experience gained since the new product fee regulation came into force".
