PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transferring a rod-like product from a first transfer device to storage parts of a second transfer device by using a transfer member equipped with the storage part at the end in the tobacco industry, to provide the transfer device therefor and a stepwise arrangement apparatus. SOLUTION: In transferring articles 10 and 11 at a first transfer station 52, at least two articles 10 each arranged in the axis of the same line are transferred to at least two transfer members 17a and 17b arranged in a displaced manner in the axial direction. In order to transfer the articles 10 to the second transfer device 15, the storage parts 16 arranged in the axis of the same line are moved to be mutually separated. The transfer members 17a and 17b are arranged mutually in a displaced manner in the axial direction. A transfer apparatus 14 having the transfer members 17a and 17b for housing at least two products arranged side by side in the axial direction and arranging the products stepwise is laid between the first transfer device 13 and the second transfer device 15.
