The report on the placing on the market of biocidal products will go to an MEP from the socialist group, the co-ordinators of the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee decided last week.rnMEP Bogdan Golik, a Polish socialist, is calling for an impact assessment on the changes to the pesticide approvals saying MEPs need to be "in full possession of the facts" before voting on the dossier. He asks about the impact on food prices and on farmers in a written question to the Commission.rnPolish centre right MEP Czeslaw Adam Siekierski calls on the Commission to act over counterfeit pesticides on the EU market which pose "a major threat to public health." He says some counterfeits have completely different ingredients to those listed.
