Commission approves first Romanian waste project

The European Commission announced this week it was providing €36 million to set up the first waste management project in Romania.rnThe project will close 204 sub-standard landfills in the region of Bistrita-Nasaud and replace them with a single regional unit consisting of a sorting line, a composting unit for biodegradable waste, five collecting platforms and five waste transfer units.
