No surprises: Budget 2010 neglects environment

A preliminary draft budget for 2010 which hinted at major investment into research and energy was unveiled by the European Commission on 29 April, but not much attention was given to environmental policy funding.rnDespite the budget's focus largely resting with economic recovery in the financial crisis, funds for major programmed linked to research and energy were proposed. The Commission agreed these schemes will have a 12 per cent increase in investment from last year.
