Pollutant emissions from thousands of industrial installations throughout the EU must be further reduced, but more flexibly, MEPs agreed on 22 January.rnVoting on a proposal to update and strengthen existing rules set out in the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control directive, the European Parliament's Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee adopted amendments to curb emissions further but offer more flexibility to firms having to carry out the cuts.
