摘要

While Green and left wing MEPs welcomed last week's European Parliament vote on the RoHS directive and said it would make electrogoods safer, they acknowledged that they would have liked an even tougher regime.rnWelsh Nationalist MEP Jill Evans, who as rapporteur steered the legislation through Parliament, commented in a Greens/European Free Alliance group statement after the vote, "The revised rules adopted today will help make electronic goods safer, and reduce the release of hazardous substances into the environment. While we clearly would have preferred even stronger legislation, with explicit restrictions on new substances, the final compromise represents a clear improvement on the current situation."
