Belgium: Fost Plus to up fees by 25 per cent

Belgium's green dot scheme Fost Plus will have to put up its fees by about 25 per cent for 2011, the organisation announced this week. This increase follows a similar rise from 2009 (the lowest fee rate ever) to 2010. The green dot fees will be announced officially in September.rnFost Plus's William Vermeir told EE&PL at the yearly press conference to launch its Annual Report that the reason for this was the need to compensate for the decreased revenue from greenrndot fees from €66.5 to €52 million, the fall in income from recycling materials from €43.5 million in 2008 to €26.2 million in 2009 due to the economic crisis, and the need under Belgian law to keep €30 million in financial reserves.
