The Welsh Assembly Government has proposed new waste measures to ban or restrict landfill and introduce a mandatory charge for carrier bags to help it achieve the ambitions set in its "Towards Zero Waste" strategy.rn"We all know that landfill is the most environmentally damaging option for waste," said Welsh environment minister Jane Davidson announcing the proposal at the end of last month."The measure will allow us to ban certain materials from landfill and ensure that we significantly increase our recycling rates."
