Unilever aims to reduce food waste mountain

British restaurants throw away 400,000 tonnes of food, the equivalent of three double-decker buses for every outlet in the country. Around 65 per cent of the waste is generated during preparation, but diners who over-order are also responsible for 30 per cent of restaurant waste, according to research from Unilever and the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA).
