Green MEPs slam EFSA over Seralini opinion

Green MEPs have hit out at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)'s 4 October opinion criticising the Seralini et al study into the toxicity of Monsanto's genetically modified (GM) NK603 maize and the associated glyphosate herbicide, Round-up (see separate articles last week and in this issue). A statement posted on the Green group website noted that EFSA had just released its initial review on the study Seralini et al study "that found significantly increased rates of cancer and death in rats fed both the GMO maize and the herbicide.
