Commission mulls biotech thresholds for food imports

The European Commission is considering setting thresholds for the low-level presence of non-EU-approved genetically engineered ingredients in food imports, our sister publication Agrow reports. The Commission will "probably" use the same mechanism as was introduced for feed imports last year, European Health Commissioner John Dalli told last month's European Parliament's Agriculture and Rural Development Committee.
