EU environment ministers will converge in Brussels on Friday to talk genetically modified organisms (GMOs), climate, chemicals and environment financing, among other issues. As well as the key debate over the proposal to allow member states to opt out of cultivating EU-approved GMOs (see story, p7-8), main agenda items include the adoption of Council conclusions on the follow up to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Durban climate conference, and on the Commission's Roadmap for moving to a competitive low-carbon economy.
